Description
Develops and executes a wide range of design projects, including print, digital, web, audio, video, and/or photography, to promote and enhance the organization?s marketing and communications strategy and brand. May be responsible for graphic design, design output, creative imagery, art, color themes and web pages. May develop and maintain the organization's graphics standards, techniques, and methods. May counsel internal clients on identity and design standards and policies. Typically uses graphics software, web-based graphics and design tools and other creative software. Applies best practices and in-depth knowledge and experience to manage projects and processes and activities. Coaches, trains, and reviews the work of less experienced employees. May represent the level at which career may stabilize for many years or until retirement. May require a specific bachelor's degree related to the work being performed. Utilizes conceptual and practical experience for more than one activity, process, or function. Works independently to prioritize, organize, and make decisions related to own work and the team to meet objectives. Uses critical thinking and analytic skills to recommend and solve difficult or complex problems. Anticipates customer needs, assesses requirements, and solves complex situations. Serves as an escalation resource for less experienced employees. Explains difficult issues and may work to build consensus. Employees in this classification typically perform work requiring invention, imagination, originality, or talent in a recognized field of artistic or creative endeavor. Primary activities involve a high degree of creativity with broad leeway to develop an original work product. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
