Description
Coordinates the production of institutional publications and/or various communication materials. Liaises between internal customers, creative artists, graphic designers, writers, and vendors for digital or printed publications. Develops project schedules, budgeting, vendor selection, and production arrangements. May review and approve job specifications and layouts. May oversee final production of printed materials. Ensures efficient and accurate process handoffs to vendors and/or internal print production operators. Applies best practices and in-depth knowledge and experience to manage projects and processes and activities. Coaches, trains, and reviews the work of less experienced employees. May represent the level at which career may stabilize for many years or until retirement. May require a specific bachelor's degree related to the work being performed. Utilizes conceptual and practical experience for more than one activity, process, or function. Works independently to prioritize, organize, and make decisions related to own work and the team to meet objectives. Uses critical thinking and analytic skills to recommend and solve difficult or complex problems. Anticipates customer needs, assesses requirements, and solves complex situations. Serves as an escalation resource for less experienced employees. Explains difficult issues and may work to build consensus. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision-making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
