Description
Responsible for assisting management in leading the planning, design, development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of clinical system(s) to support patient care delivery. Performs analysis of department and end user business needs, documentation of requirements, and translation of requirements into proper system specifications utilizing their clinical background and knowledge of The Joint Commission requirements, other health care compliance regulations and electronic medical record. Effectively collaborates with nurses, physicians and other clinician users to ensure enterprise, organization and project goals are met. Participates in all activities with interrelated teams including project management, testing, support, training, technical, and interfaces teams. Coordinates team activity for system implementation and production support, and schedules, assigns and prioritizes work. Determines staff schedules. Mentors less experienced Clinical Systems Analysts. Possesses full technical knowledge of most aspects of the clinical system(s) , but also considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant allied health discipline and 7+ years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary. Master's degree preferred. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
