International Services Representative

Description

Advise and educate international students, exchange visitors, scholars, faculty, staff, and academic units on federal immigration regulations as they apply to higher education. Serve as official liaison to governmental agencies and ensure compliance with immigration regulations. Consult with legal council regarding complex immigration cases. Plan, develop and conduct workshops to educate on current U.S. immigration regulations and compliance. Develop and maintain relationships with schools and colleges regarding their international faculty, staff, scholars and exchange visitor requirements. Maintain knowledge of U.S. immigration regulations. Assist in monitoring foreign government policies and actions that may impact operations. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
