Mechanical Technician Associate

Description

Develops and tests machinery and equipment, consistent with engineering and other specifications. Drafts detail drawings or sketches for drafting room completion or to request parts. Devises, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies. Sets up and tests complete units. Records test procedures and results, performs routine analyses and calculations, and recommends changes in equipment, products or test methods. 0-3 years of experience in area of specialization. Applies basic and develops advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment appropriate to area of specialization. Duties and tasks are standardized. Performs some more advanced functions as part of training and development. Resolves routine questions and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher levels. Works under direct supervision and selects from written instructions and established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks. Under FLSA, incumbents in this position are nonexempt.
