Social Work Supervisor

Description

Supervises the daily activities of assigned social work services. Sets priorities for team and may coordinate work with other supervisors. Implements programs to meet the psychosocial and emotional needs of patients and patients' families in a hospital setting. Implement objectives, policies and procedures for specific department program/initiatives. A Master's of Social Work degree is necessary. May assist in the preparation of budget plans and man-hour reports and special reports. Considerable experience of professional social work is necessary. This classification requires licensure with the appropriate agency as required by JCAHO. This classification also requires registration, certification or licensure with the appropriate agency as identified on the Primary Source Verification Matrix. Direction is over a permanent status-continuing function, not a collection of employees assigned to complete a project. Employees may spend time performing many of the same duties as subordinate employees. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
