Description

Participates in the care of a patient either through observation and/or through non-direct-care activities as directed by the specific licensing agency, and/or to participate in the care of a patient which may include evaluation, treatment, interpretation and/or administering tests to patients as directed by a Registered/Certified/Licensed professional. This position is typically for staff that are awaiting receipt or working towards the appropriate credential in the areas of Social Worker, Pharmacist, Physical Therapist and Orthotics/Prosthetics. Employees in this classification are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience. Employees typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
