Advanced Practice Provider Training Fellow

Description

Responsible for actively engaging other nurse practitioners, physician assistants, faculty and medical teams as part of the learning experience. Participates in the formal educational twelve month program by the department. Assists in the diagnosis and treatment of patients, provides assessment of patients utilizing evidence based standardized tools to implement appropriate interventions to address symptoms. Collects and assists in the interpretation of reports from diagnostic and laboratory tests, radiographic procedures and clinical studies. May participate in research projects under the supervision of an assigned mentor that will focus on development of original evidence to improve care or as a quality improvement to support enhanced care outcomes. This Classification requires registration, certification or licensure with the appropriate agency as identified on the Primary Source Verification Matrix. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
