Advanced Image Processing Specialist

Description

Manages the clinical activities related to the performance of a variety of post-processing applications on Computerized Tomography data sets. Provides technical expertise in the development of protocols for complex three-dimensional renderings. Directly supervises the performance and development of Cardiac studies and other advanced protocols. Direct physician interaction, the review and discussion of post processing work with Radiologists and/or referring physicians for patient management, including preoperative planning. Provides appropriate interpretive worksheets for applicable examinations including pre-operative analysis. Develops and administers curriculum for education of all Computerized Technologists with regards to protocols and three-dimensional renderings. Provides training for visiting physicians. Verifies and ensures appropriate protocols are prescribed by residents and fellows for Computerized Tomography exams requiring post-processing. Functional supervision is exercised over assigned assistants. Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography and Computerized Tomography and five years of Computerized Tomography experience (including three years of post-processing) are necessary. Employees in this classification are required to have a minimum of a Bachelors degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position. Employees typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
