Special Advisor to the President

Description

Provide counsel and vision to the President on university initiatives and other university efforts as deemed necessary by the President. Where appropriate, provide counsel to the President with executive officer transitions and other special projects. Advise the President and leadership team on various issues and university policy discussions. Provide oversight for the university's economic development activities and advise the president on many matters, such as the development and growth of the University Research Corridor. Employees in this classification analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision-making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting the university to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
