Assistant To the Dean or Vice President Senior

Description

Performs complex administrative duties for the Dean or Vice President. Directs and coordinates daily operations of office and/or program. Serves as staff and resources person. Acts as liaison with internal and external groups/offices/ constituents. Compiles data, statistics and other information and materials for meetings, lectures, etc. Composes correspondence for Dean/VP signature. Plans events and performs special projects. Education and Experience: Bachelor degree or equivalent and 5 to 7 years of related experience. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
